# Survivor pool rules (last one standing), written down

A survivor pool asks for one winner a week, no team twice; a wrong pick knocks the entry out; the last one standing wins. The rules are short, and every argument comes from one that was not written down. The tool does not host survivor pools yet; the rules below are the ones to agree wherever you run it.

## The rules

- One pick per week, before the first game of the week; no pick means elimination unless the pool allows a default.
- No team may be picked twice in a season; the sheet must show each entry's used teams.
- A loss eliminates; a tie counts as a loss or a survival, decided in advance.
- Everyone eliminated in the same week: the prize is shared among that week's eliminated, or the pool restarts; decide in advance.

## Common options

- Strikes: two losses before elimination, which keeps more people in through November.
- Buy-back: one re-entry after the first loss, before a stated week.

## Quick answers

**How does a survivor pool work?**

Each entry picks one team to win each week and may not pick the same team twice in the season; a wrong pick eliminates the entry; the last entry standing wins.

**Does Bikoosh Pools host survivor pools?**

Not yet: it hosts squares and pick'em pools. The survivor rules above are published because they are asked for; a weekly pick'em with one matchup per entry is the nearest thing the tool runs.

Bikoosh Pools is an independent tool, not affiliated with any league, team or broadcaster; team and event names are used to describe the game being followed. Bikoosh Pools never collects, holds or pays out money and never sets stakes: it keeps the grid, the picks and the standings for people who already know each other. Whether a pool carries any stake, and whether that is allowed where you are, is the host's responsibility.
