## The answer, as recorded

Asked on 2026-10-04 through Claude (Anthropic) with web search (model claude-opus-5).

> **Gorgias** - my default recommendation for most Shopify/BigCommerce stores. It's the one purpose-built for ecommerce: order data, refunds, cancellations, and subscription changes happen inside the ticket instead of in a second browser tab. Unlimited agents on every plan, and you pay for ticket volume - which is great for a small team handling a lot of email, and expensive if volume spikes and headcount doesn't.
>
> **Zendesk** - the right answer once you're big or complicated: high ticket volume, real phone/IVR support, multiple brands or regions, compliance requirements. Per-agent pricing makes costs predictable as volume grows. The tradeoff is that ecommerce context comes from apps rather than being native, and it takes real configuration work.
>
> **Help Scout** - what I'd pick for a small store that mostly just needs email done well. Clean shared inbox, docs site, light chat, flat per-user pricing, almost no setup. It won't automate much, but it also won't demand an admin.
>
> **Richpanel** - worth a look if your pain is volume of repetitive "where's my order" tickets. The self-service portal lets customers resolve returns and order status themselves, which genuinely cuts inbound. Smal

Answer Watch records what one AI answer engine said on one date, nothing more. Each page names the engine and the model, carries the date the question was asked, and lists the brands that appeared in the answer in the order the engine gave them, with the sources it cited. It is a measurement, not a ranking, not a recommendation and not a claim about the world. Brands that did not appear in an answer are not named on any public page.
