One thing worth flagging up front: \"fleet management\" splits into two different purchases, and delivery firms usually need both. Telematics (vehicle tracking, safety cameras, compliance, maintenance) and delivery execution (route optimization, dispatch, proof of delivery, customer ETAs). Buying only the first is the most common mistake.\n\n**Telematics / core fleet platform**\n\n1. **Samsara** - My default recommendation for most delivery fleets. Easiest to deploy and get people actually using, AI dash cams are the best in class, and the driver app plus Driver ID works well when drivers rotate across vehicles. Reported time-to-ROI is faster than competitors (~9 months) and 91% of customers say it's easy to get started. Priciest of the three, and it locks you into multi-year contracts.\n2. **Motive** - The value pick. Started as an ELD compliance tool, so DOT/HOS compliance automation is its strongest suit, and it's now a full platform with cameras and GPS. Cheaper with more flexible contracts than Samsara - the right call if budget is tight or you don't want a 3-year commitment.\n3. **Verizon Connect** - Best if your operation ", "answer_truncated": true, "measurement": "One answer from one engine on one date.
