Treat the specific dollar figures below as ballpark list prices, not quotes.\n\nHere's what I'd actually recommend, in order:\n\n**1. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (Plan 1)** - Start here before buying anything. If you're on Microsoft 365 Business Premium, it's already included at no extra cost, and most small businesses haven't turned on Safe Links, Safe Attachments, or anti-phishing policies properly. Configuring what you own is the highest-return move. Plan 1 standalone is roughly $2/user/month if you're on a cheaper M365 tier.\n\n**2. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration (formerly Avanan)** - My top pick for a *paid* add-on if you're a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace shop. It's API-based rather than a true gateway, so there's no MX record change, no mail-flow risk, and it scans internal email too (which a gateway can't see). It also consistently tests well on business email compromise. Downside: quote-o", "answer_truncated": true, "measurement": "One answer from one engine on one date.
