Metabase** - My default suggestion for most small-to-midsize remote teams. Browser-only, genuinely usable by non-analysts, connects straight to Postgres/MySQL/Snowflake/BigQuery, and sends dashboard subscriptions to Slack and email on a schedule. Open source and self-hostable for free; cloud Starter is roughly $85/month for a bundle of users, Pro around $12/user/month. Low enough friction that people actually use it.\n\n**2.
