In rough order of who I'd name:\n\n1. **Sage Intacct** - the default recommendation for nonprofits above roughly $5M budget. Dimensional fund accounting (fund, grant, program, funder, restriction as separate tags rather than a mangled chart of accounts), real audit trails, and net-asset rollforwards that come out audit-ready instead of being rebuilt in Excel each year. It's AICPA-preferred, which matters mainly because auditors already know it. Expect five figures a year.\n2. **QuickBooks Online (Plus or Advanced) with classes and locations** - if you're under about $2M and don't have federal grants, this is genuinely the right answer, not a compromise. Every auditor on earth can read it, it's cheap, and nonprofit pricing is available through TechSoup. Its weakness is true restricted-fund tracking, which you patch with classes and discipline", "answer_truncated": true, "measurement": "One answer from one engine on one date.
